78+ Intex Air Mattress Leak

I also just recently purchased an Intex air mattress and in literally 33 days air was coming out of the valve.

Before you try to locate a leak in an air mattress inflate it as much as you can and inspect the valve to see if its damaged since a broken valve is a common source of leaks. To stop the air mattress deflating dontt let kids bounce on it. A bad seal or a cross-threaded cap can leak a significant amount of air in a somewhat short time. If by some miracle the leak still escapes your eye fill your bathtub and submerge the air bed completely. Its common to have a leak around the face plate.

When you know wheres leaking its time to fix it. Since Intex air mattresses can tear if they come in contact with sharp or jagged objects this manufacturer typically includes a repair kit. They have reverse threads that allow the pump assembly to be removed. Its the same for pinhole leaks and seam leaks though its not always possible.

To patch a leak in an air mattress start by using sandpaper to lightly scrub away the soft felt on the surface of the mattress around the hole to help the glue stick better. To check seals and caps listen carefully for any hissing while forcing air pressure towards the cap or seal.
